PENGARUH PRAKTIK K3 DAN LINGKUNGAN KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN MELALUI EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SEBAGAI VARIABEL MEDIASI (STUDI KASUS PADA PT. ,MITRA PUDING MAS REGIONAL BENGKULU)
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) practices and work environment on employee performance through employee engagement as a mediating variable. In the increasingly competitive industrial era, companies are required to optimize human resources as a key factor in achieving organizational success. Employee performance is one of the most important indicators in determining the effectiveness and productivity of an organization. Therefore, understanding the factors that influence employee performance becomes essential.
This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population of this study consists of employees at PT. Mitra Puding Mas Regional Bengkulu. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale to measure respondents’ perceptions of K3 practices, work environment, employee engagement, and performance. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables.
The results of this study indicate that Occupational Safety and Health (K3) practices have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Additionally, the work environment also shows a significant influence on employee engagement. Employee engagement itself is proven to have a strong positive impact on employee performance. More importantly, employee engagement is able to mediate the relationship between K3 and work environment on employee performance, indicating that employees who feel safe and comfortable at work tend to have higher emotional attachment and commitment, which ultimately improves their performance.
These findings suggest that companies should prioritize the implementation of effective safety programs and create a supportive work environment to enhance employee engagement and achieve optimal performance.
